Abstract

|
N-Acetylchitooligosaccharides and chitooligosaccharides, ranging from biose to hexaose, the water-soluble lower analogues of chitin and chitosan were examined for their immunomodulatory effects. The results indicated that N-acetylchitohexaose (NACOS-6) was able to display the above effects in the strongest extents than the two series of oligosaccharides . N-Acetylchitohexaose was further investigated for the efficacy of its delivery function in the conjugate with mitomycin C. This conjugate with found to be incorporated into MHI34 Y tumor cells as assayed by FACscan method using fluorescence labeled NACOS,.
